This area provides information on several of the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) maturity models as well as software Tools to help in process improvement.
  • SEI Capability Maturity Model for Software (SW-CMM) (3) - The Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model for Software (CMM or SW-CMM) is a model for judging the maturity of the software processes of an organization and for identifying the key practices that are required to increase the maturity of these processes.

Important: The Software CMM is being phased out and will no longer be supported by the SEI. For more information, see Sunset of the Software CMM.

  • SEI Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) (8) - This Software Engineering Institute's project's objective is to develop a product suite that provides industry and government with a set of integrated products to support process and product improvement.

  • SEI People Capability Maturity Model (P-CMM) (5) - The Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) P-CMM adapts the maturity framework of the Capability Maturity Model for Software (SW-CMM), to managing and developing an organization's work force.

  • SEI Personal Software Process (PSP) (6) - The PSP is an Software Engineering Institute (SEI) technology that brings discipline to the practices of individual software engineers, dramatically improving the quality, predictability, and cycle time for software-intensive systems.

  • SEI Software Acquisition Capability Maturity Model (SA-CMM) (7) - The Software Engineering Institute's SA-CMM is a model for benchmarking and improving the software acquisition process.
The model follows the same architecture as the Capability Maturity Model for Software (SW-CMM), but with a unique emphasis on acquisition issues and the needs of individuals and groups who are planning and managing software acquisition efforts.

  • SEI Systems Engineering Capability Maturity Model (SE-CMM) (3) - The Software Engineering Institute's
Systems Engineering Capability Maturity Model (SE-CMM)
describes the essential elements of an organization's systems
engineering process that must exist to ensure good systems
engineering. Current effort in this area is now part of Capability
    Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).

  • SEI Team Software Process (TSP) (3) - The Software Engineering Institute's TSP defines the steps required to build and run software-intensive integrated product development (IPD) teams.
