  • ACT/IAC Website - The American Council for Technology (ACT) is a non-profit educational organization established in 1979 to assist government in acquiring and using information technology resources effectively and efficiently. Working with all levels of government, ACT provides education, programming, and networking opportunities that enhance and advance the government IT profession.

    In 1989 ACT established the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) to bring industry and government executives together to exchange information, support professional development, improve communications, and build partnership and trust, thereby enhancing government's ability to serve the nation. ACT and IAC work together to provide an objective, professional and ethical forum where government and industry leaders can collaborate on addressing common issues towards a shared vision.

  • Best Manufacturing Practices Center of Excellence - The Best Manufacturing Practices (BMP) web site is the source for best practices and innovative technologies. The BMP Program is a unique industry and government cooperative technology transfer effort that improves the global competitiveness of the U.S. industrial base. The primary objective toward this goal is simple: to identify and validate best practices, document them, and then encourage industry, government, and academia to share information about them. BMP Program and Technical expertise includes Acquisition Management.

  • DACS Gold Practices Initiative - This initiative is focused on on-going collection and dissemination of information about best practices. Dissemination of information is supported by the DACS Gold Practice web site. In this initial release of the web site the focus is on establishing the primary methods for information collection as well as providing the latest information about specific Best Practices.

  • Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA) - The Institute for Defense & Government Advancement (IDGA) is a non-partisan information-based organization dedicated to the promotion of innovative ideas in public service and defense. We bring together speaker panels comprised of military and government professionals while attracting delegates with decision-making power from military, government and defense industries.

  • ITIL Website - Maintained by the United Kingdom Office of Government Commerce, this site is the primary source for the latest information about ITIL and its implementation.

  • Office of Federal Procurement Policy Guides - Contains links to Office of Federal Procurement Policy Best Practices and other OFPP guides.

  • Office of Government Commerce - This British site has an enourmous amount of success stories, best practices, policies and standards. Among the available resources are the excellent IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), which provides a cohesive set of best practices drawn from the public and private sectors internationally, and the The IT projects database which was designed as a tool to enable knowledge sharing. This site was featured in CIO Magazine in May of 2004 as the best international source for Best Practices.

  • Software Acquisition Management Best Practices - Acquisition management practices requires a process infrastructure and supports elements essential for successful performance in a dynamic environment.

  • Software Program Manager's Network (SPMN) - The SPMN's mission is to enable managers of large-scale, software-intensive development or maintenance projects to more effectively manage and succeed by identifying and conveying to them best management practices, lessons learned, and directly useful support.
