  • Subtopics of Special Interest
    • Acquisition Community Connection (ACC) (3) - Sponsored by the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), ACC is a tool to facilitate collaboration, sharing, and the transfer of knowledge across the DoD AT&L workforce. ACC is a collection of communities of practice centered on different functional disciplines within the acquisition community.

    • Defense Acquisition University (3) - The DAU is an organization established by Congress in 1990 to consolidate and integrate education and training for the Defense Acquisition Workforce. In addition to providing training, it maintains the Acquisition Community Connection(ACC)on line forum for Communities of Practice. It supports the Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L) workforce global access to certification, assignment specific, international and executive training courses.

    • DoD-specific Acquisition (5) - This topic contains resources that relate specifically to acquisition within and for the DoD.

    • Knowledge-based Acquisition Framework (1)

    • Outsourcing (4) - "Outsourcing" involves transferring or sharing management control and/or decision-making of a business function to an outside supplier, which involves a degree of two-way information exchange, coordination and trust between the outsourcer and its client. It may encompass, but is not the same as "offshoring".

    • Performance-based Services Acquisition (PBSA) (4) - Since the publication of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy’s
(OFPP) policy letter 91-2, Service Contracting, on April 15, 1991, Performance-Based Services Acquisition (PBSA, formerly called “Performance-Based Contracting”) has been the government’s preferred approach to service contracting. It requires specification of the results that contractors must produce instead of the processes that they must use.

    • SEI Software Acquisition Capability Maturity Model (SA-CMM) (7) - The Software Engineering Institute's SA-CMM is a model for benchmarking and improving the software acquisition process.
The model follows the same architecture as the Capability Maturity Model for Software (SW-CMM), but with a unique emphasis on acquisition issues and the needs of individuals and groups who are planning and managing software acquisition efforts.
