Books, bibliographies, journals, papers, and similar resources on Software Programming Languages.
  • Computer Languages, Systems and Structures - The purpose of the Journal is to publish both articles presenting original work and also review articles, on programming languages, systems, structures, and theories. The objective is to concentrate on advances in programming language theory, as well as infrastructure developments still under investigation, such as those related to the Internet. This journal is published by Elsevier Science and commenced publication in 1976. (ISSN: 0096-0551)

  • A Survey of Computer Programming Languages Currently Used in the Department of Defense -- An Executive Summary -- CrossTalk (October 1995) - In June 1994, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Command Control, Communications, and Intelligence commissioned a programming language survey of the Department of Defense (DoD). The purpose of the survey was to identify the number of programming languages being used today in the DoD as compared to 20 years ago when the DoD first began to develop the Ada programming language.
    - CrossTalk is a publication of the DoD Software Technology Support Center (STSC).

  • Author Index for Textbooks About Programming Languages - This list of textbooks about Programming Languages contain materials that are appropriate for both Undergraduate and Graduate study.

  • Bibliographies on Programming Languages, Type Theory and Compiler Technology - This resource offers over 40,000 bibliographic citations to programming language materials and publications. A searchable index is provided. Each entry includes author's contact information, brief abstract, keywords, author's comments, and bibliographic statistics (types, fields, and publication dates).

  • Executable and Translatable UML - Written by Stephen J. Mellor for Crosstalk, Sept 2004, vol. 17, no. 9. The Executable and Translatable Unified Modeling Language lets developers formally test models to reduce defect rates from early execution of target-independent application models. xtUML separates application and software architecture design so that each can evolve, be maintained, modified, and reused separately and concurrently.

  • McGraw-Hill Higher Education's Computer Science Textbooks - McGraw-Hill publishes in the following Programming Languages course areas: Assembly, Basic and QuickBasic, C, C++, COBOL, Fortran, Java, Pascal, Programming Logic, General Programming Languages, and other languages. The page presents a catalog of materials and convention listings.

  • Software and Systems Modeling, A Springer Journal - Software and System Modeling (SoSyM) is an English language quarterly international journal that focuses on theoretical and practical issues pertaining to the development and application of software and system modeling languages and techniques.
