  • About SAX - SAX is the Simple API for XML, originally a Java-only API. SAX was the first widely adopted API for XML in Java, and is a “de facto” standard. There are versions for several programming language environments other than Java also. This site has an FAQ, links to SAX2 Parsers, a Java API Quickstart and good articles on SAX in general.

  • Altova XMLSpy - Altova XMLSpy is a widely used XML development environment for modeling, editing, debugging, and transforming all XML technologies, then automatically generating runtime code in multiple programming languages. XMLSpy 2006 is a productivity enhancer for J2EE, .NET, Eclipse, and database developers that need the latest XML, Web services, and database technologies.

  • Cafe con Leche XML News and Resources - Designed to provide more or less daily news updates from and for the XML community. It is maintained by Elliotte Rusty Harold and modeled after his Java news and resource site, Cafe au Lait.

  • Checking or Validating XML Tools (The XML Cover Pages) - This page provides access to a collection of tools for checking or validating XML.

  • Cocoon - Apache Cocoon is a Spring-based framework (since version 2.2 of Cocoon) built around the concepts of separation of concerns and component-based development. Cocoon implements these concepts around the notion of component pipelines, each component on the pipeline specializing on a particular operation.

  • eWebEditPro+XML - From Ektron the eWebEditPro+XML Web-based XML Editor allows users easy access to HTML, XHTML and XML content through visual interfaces. Features include an XML object model to access the XML tag attributes and content, context of cursor positioning (i.e., which XML tag the user in), and double-click event handling for pop-up widgets and custom dialogs. Also included is schema validation and full support for XSLT transformation.

  • Exchanger XML Lite - The Exchanger XML Lite is an XML Editor that is free for use in non-commercial environments and can be downloaded without registration. Exchanger XML Lite is a comprehensive multi platform XML Editor bringing you lots of the great features you have come to expect. The XML Editor facilitates easy editing, browsing, managing and conversion of XML Documents.

  • EXPAT - XML Parser Toolkit - This is a production version of expat. Relative to expat 1.1, it adds support for parsing external DTDs and parameter entities. Compiling with -DXML_DTD enables this support. There's a new -p option for xmlwf which will cause it to process external DTDs and parameter entities; this implies the -x option. See the comment above XML_SetParamEntityParsing in xmlparse.h for the API addition that enables this.
    Expat is an XML 1.0 parser written in C. It aims to be fully conforming. It is currently not a validating XML processor. The current production version of expat 1.X can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.jclark.com/pub/xml/expat.zip.

  • eXtyles - From Inera Inc., eXtyles is an integrated set of editorial and XML tools for Microsoft Word that automates editorial and XML production processes. It streamlines molding Word documents into a corporate editorial and visual style, and exporting Word documents to rich XML. eXtyles is widely used in Scientific, Technical and Medical (STM) publishing.

  • Free XML Tools and Software - The resources on this site are grouped by category, name, platform, vendor, and standard.

  • fxgrep: The Functional XML Querying Tool - fxgrep is a powerful XML querying tool. It is written in the functional programming language SML, based on the XML parser fxp. Given a query, it parses an XML document and finds all matches of the query within that document. The query can be specified either as a pattern or a grammar; while the pattern syntax is more succinct and intuitive, the grammar syntax is more expressive.

  • http://www.dcomsols.com/products.asp - Customizable, Web based(XML) Bug / Defect tracking, Issue Management and Messaging product. yKAP features include support for unlimited projects, test environments, attachments, exporting data into PDF/RTF/XLS/HTML/Text formats, rule-based email alerts, exhaustive search options, and more. Apart from pre-defined values, yKAP allows the user to add custom values for system parameters such as Status, Defect cause, Defect type, priority, etc. yKAP is installed with complete help documentation.

  • Java Architecture for XML Binding (JAXB) - Home page for the JAXB Reference Implementation Project.

  • Lark (and Larval) - Lark is a non-validating XML processor implemented in the Java language; it attempts to achieve good trade-offs among compactness, completeness, and performance. Larval is a validating XML processor built on the same code base as Lark. This report gives an overview of the motivations for, facilities offered by, and usage of, the Lark processor.   • Microsoft XML (MSXML) - Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) allows customers to build high-performance XML-based applications that adhere to the XML 1.0 standard.

  • SAXON - The Open Source SAXON XSLT processor was developed by Michael Kay of Saxonica Limited. SAXON is also available in commercial professional and enterprise versions from Saxonica.

  • SoftXML - Softxml is an Israel-based web development company that offers a variety of Xml Products for web developers and website owners.

  • StAX - The Streaming API for XML (StAX)is a standard XML processing API that allows you to stream XML data from and to your application. The Reference Implementation is the standard pull parser implementation for JSR-173 specification.

  • Web Developer's Virtual Library (WDVL) - XML Software Guide - WDVL's guide to software currently available for XML: editors, parsers, database support, APIs, and special-purpose software. They limited the tools to 1998 or newer and indicated whether or not the tool is a commercial product, as well as the platforms for which it is available. A great resource.

  • What is XML? (Rees) - This collection of resources was compiled by L.C. Rees. It includes resources for learning the eXtensible Markup Language, code, tools and selected links of continuing relevance.

  • Xerlin - The Xerlin Project is a Java based XML modeling application written to make creating and editing XML files easier. It runs on any Java 2 virtual machine (JDK1.2.2 or higher). The application is extensible via custom editor interfaces that can be added for individual DTDs. Xerlin is an OpenSource project for developers interested in creating a user interface for working with XML data files.

  • XMetal - This tool from JustSystems enables XML content applications in e-commerce, e-publishing and Knowledge Management. Combining state-of-the-art XML editing features and a front-end to your applications, XMetaL enables your entire user base to create content. XMetaL is a validating XML editor with a rich development environment that supports the W3C XML Schema. It provides the tools and capabilities needed to build intuitive XML content creation applications quickly and cost-effectively.

  • XML Pitstop - The mission of this website is to provide the developer community with a central location to learn about XML, locate resources and network with fellow developers. The site is organized by the following sections: examples, tools, tutorials, developers, resources, books, and user group.

  • XML Pro - Vervet Logic's XML Pro eXtensible Markup Language editor includes a number of new features, including Drag and Drop, Undo, and integration of the IBM XML 4J Parser. There is a free demo to download also.
